Karnataka State BJP Chief Seeks Suggestions From Seniors To Win 28 Seats in LS Polls

Bengaluru: Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party president B.Y. Vijayendra on Thursday asked his party seniors to share with him the suggestions and opinions for the party to succeed in the ensuing elections particularly the Lok Sabha polls of 2024. Not only, the Lok Sabha polls, he said, even the party nominees should win ensuing polls for Zilla Panchayat, Taluk Panchayat and Legislative Council.

He chaired a meeting of party seniors in Bengaluru city which was attended by former Chief Ministers B.S. Yediyurappa, Basavaraj Bommai and D.V. Sadananda Gowda, Leader of Opposition R. Ashok, among others.

“I have been given the responsibility of heading the party in Karnataka by leaders who laid a strong foundation and it is important for the seniors of the party to come up with suggestions/opinions on ways to build the party,” said Vijayendra, a first-time MLA from Shikaripura Assembly seat in Shivamogga.

One of the attendees, former minister C.T. Ravi said after the meeting the meeting chaired by Vijayendra discussed the strategy to be adopted to win Lok Sabha polls in Karnatka and exuded confidence that BJP will win in all 28 seats in the State.

Ravi said efforts will be made to establish coordination with BJP’s alliance partner Janata Dal Secular and an action plan will be framed to win 28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka.

Former minister K.S. Eshwarappa said the meeting decided to fight the Lok Sabha under Vijayendra and highlight to the people of the State over the failure of the Congress ruled State Government.

Eshwarappa also said to work in tandem with alliance partner JDS to win Lok Sabha polls and also Legislative Council elections.
