Cong fearful and frustrated ahead of elections, says Bommai
Mangaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that the Congress leaders are fearful and visibly frustrated ahead of the election, which is quite clear by their language during the election campaign.
Speaking to reporters at Hubballi today, Bommai emphasized the political culture of Karnataka as thematic and development-oriented.
"I have maintained restraint, avoiding allegations and counter-allegations even when targeted in the last one and half years since I took charge as the CM," he said.
Bommai blamed the Congress for using indecent language in their desperation.
"The political culture of Karnataka is not individual-based or hate-based. It is subject-based and development-oriented. BJP's campaign highlights the accomplishments of both the central and state governments. The desperation of the Congress party is reflected in their frustrated language," he said.
Bommai hailed Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to North Karnataka, calling it a source of motivation.
“BJP has a strong support base in the Kittur Karnataka (Bombay Karnataka) region. Amit Shah's visit has provided more energy and enthusiasm. People's support to the BJP was evident at all the meetings,” he said.
"The Congress is posing as if they have come to power while the reality is different. The fact is evident in the large turnout and enthusiastic support for the BJP at our leaders' campaigns. This echoes the strong support for the BJP. The party has a strong presence from the booth-level in the state," the CM claimed.
When asked about finalizing the candidate list, the CM mentioned that survey work was underway.
