AP government offers subsidies to SC farmers, self-employed
VIJAYAWADA: Social welfare minister Merugu Nagarjuna on Wednesday asked eligible members of scheduled castes (SCs) to apply for subsidies being extended under the Amrit Jaladhara and Young Entrepreneur schemes being implemented by AP State SC Corporation.
Under Amrit Jaladhara scheme of the central government, ₹50,000 subsidy is available to SC farmers for whom banks or other organisations have approved loans for irrigation systems, including sprinklers, drip irrigation and bore wells.
Nagarjuna underlined that farmers with two and a half acres of land and annual income less than ₹3 lakh are eligible for the Amrit Jaladhara scheme.
Likewise, under Young Entrepreneur Scheme, SC youth are being given ₹60,000 subsidy in case banks and other organisations are supporting their self-employment ventures through purchase of tractors, trolleys, commercial vehicles, warehouses and so on.
The minister said eligible candidates may submit their applications to SC Corporation offices in their respective districts. “There is no limit and all those who are eligible will be able to get subsidies under Amrit Jaladhara and Young Entrepreneur schemes,” he added.
