Bandi to fight legally, won't apologise to KTR

HYDERABAD: Reacting sharply to IT minister K.T.Rama Rao's legal notice demanding an apology for linking him to the TSPSC question paper leak scandal or face Rs 100 crore defamation suit, Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar declared on Wednesday that he will not apologise or retract for his demand that he be removed from the Cabinet.

Sanjay stated that the legal notice from the BRS working president and minister will be handled legally and that he and the BJP are unfazed by such notices. He also vowed that the fight for the minister's removal from the Cabinet and the demand that the state government order an investigation into the TSPSC scandal by a sitting judge would continue relentlessly.

"It is a shame that Rama Rao is trying to make money off the misery of 30 lakh jobless youth in Telangana by suing for damages to the tune of Rs 100 crore. How much should I seek in damages for your claim that I am involved in the case,” Sanjay questioned. Sanjay said it was sad that several ministers had joined in the government's efforts to downplay the impact of the question paper leaks by referring to this as a "normal occurrence" despite the fact that the TSPSC exam cancellations and question paper leaks had jeopardised the lives and future of lakhs of jobless youth.

"KTR must explain how he has access to information that only the SIT investigating the case has. If he is not informed by the SIT, then why are criminal charges not filed against the minister who has declared that only two people were responsible for the paper leaks,” Sanjay asked.

The state BJP president claimed that Rama Rao was accountable for more than just the TSPSC paper leak; he should be held responsible for the role of the GHMC officials' in issuing false birth and death certificate rackets. Additionally, he said that Rama Rao should accept moral responsibility for the deaths of children who were mauled by stray dogs and kids who drowned in municipal nalas. Sanjay stated that the minister should provide an explanation for how he acquired assets worth hundreds of crores of rupees despite having nothing prior to his return from the United States.
