Hyderabad: TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday demanded that a special team, comprising CBI, ED and ACB officials, be formed probe the TSPSC question paper leak, alleging that the SIT set up by the government was working under the direct control of minister K.T. Rama Rao.
Addressing mediapersons in Delhi, he said, “Economic offences were conducted as part of this racket, including foreign funds through hawala and money laundering. Hence, SIT alone cannot investigate this scam. CBI, ED and ACB should form a special SIT. Congress leaders, for the past two to three days, have been seeking an appointment to meet CBI and ED directors, but are yet to get appointment.”
He accused Rama Rao of pressurising the investigating officials, to escape from the case.
“What KTR is claiming about the detection of the paper leakage issue is a lie. He said that the leakage of the question papers came out in the public through the accused because of the differences between them about sharing the money. All efforts are being made to cover it up. TSPSC lodged a complaint at the Begumpet Police Station when there was no other way out after the allegations were made against KCR's family. In order to sidestep this case and protect the government officials, the government handed over the case to the SIT,” he said.
He said that while the SIT was providing information to Rama Rao on one side, it was serving notices to leaders of Opposition parties on the other.
“How did KTR get the information about those who took the exam in Jagtial even before the SIT investigation report was submitted to the court? KTR has specific information. Without serving notice to him, they leaked to the media that criminal cases will be filed against us. Did the criminals give the information to KTR? Did the investigating officer give it? KTR should answer where he got this information,” he said.
Revanth Reddy also alleged that A.R. Srinivas, the SIT officer leading the probe, had a poor track record. “Earlier, the High Court had sentenced him to a two-week sentence in a contempt of court case. The investigation of the case should be transferred to other honest officers. This case should be given to the Telangana officers immediately,” he said.
