Stone pelting at Yediyurappa's house provoked by Congress, alleges Bommai

Kalaburagi: Congress party's well-planned provocation led to the recent stone-pelting at the house of former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, according to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

He was speaking to reporters during his visit to Kalaburgai on Tuesday.

"A well-planned provocation by the Congress Party led to the stone-pelting," he said.

Responding to KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar's claims that the BJP was behind the attack, Bommai stated that Congress leaders were captured in the CCTV footage.

Bommai also alleged that Congress leaders instigated the incident by spreading rumors that community leaders would be removed from the SC list.

"I am telling with proof. It is high time Shivakumar must stop telling lies," he said.
Regarding the textile park project in Kalaburagi, Bommai stated that the BJP government has been talking about the textile park for the last one and a half years and now a new textile policy has come into effect.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants employment and exports to increase through textiles. This project is a result of that. The Congress leaders who are unable to digest this, are taking the credit for the project. The people are watching everything," he said.

In response to former minister N. Cheluvarayaswamy's claim that two BJP ministers, S.T.Somashekar and B.A.Basavaraj would return to the Congress

Party after the announcement of poll dates, Bommai stated that Cheluvarayaswamy's words cannot be trusted. "Cheluvarayaswamy is himself a migrant," he added.

Bommai reiterated BJP MLC C.P. Yogeshwar's statement that there will be no understanding with the JD(S).

He added that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has already ruled out any kind of adjustment with JD(S) in the upcoming Assembly elections.
