Chandrababu a habitual liar: Minister Merugu
Visakhapatnam: Social Welfare Minister Merugu Nagarjuna has said the opposition leader and TD chief Chandrababu Naidu is a habitual liar and this is manifested in his new-found love for the Dalits and the poor.
Addressing the media at the YSRC office here on Friday, the minister said Chandrababu and his son Lokesh were not getting enough people at their rallies and meetings. "Hence, they changed strategy and began telling lies and promising their support to the oppressed classes and new schemes for them if the TD is voted to power."
“It is well-known to the people how Naidu and his son abused Dalits. Such acts had been shown on TV channels,’’ the minister said.
He said Naidu also maintained a double standard. “When in power, he hobnobbed with the rich and the powerful; and while out of power, he spoke only about the poor and the exploited classes.”
“Naidu had stated that agriculture was a wasteful activity. Later on, he told the media that his statement was distorted. Naidu did little for the welfare of the Dalits. The TD government spent Rs 33,000 crore in its tenure, but it is known to all how much of this money it has siphoned off and how much of it benefitted TD party workers.”
He said that the YSRC government on the other hand spent Rs 53,000 crore and the entire amount was spent for developmental activities. “There was no scope for brokers as every rupee went into the accounts of the beneficiaries online,” the minister added.
