Minister criticises Naidu over NTR's centenary

VIJAYAWADA: Water resources minister Ambati Rambabu objected to TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu’s holding NTR’s centenary celebrations, as the former CM had backstabbed NTR to assume power in Andhra Pradesh.

Rambabu recalled NTR comparing Chandrababu with Aurangzeb for dethroning him. He said the backstabbing episode had caused great suffering to NTR, ultimately leading to his death.

“I challenge Chandrababu Naidu to release videos wherein NTR talked about the way he had been backstabbed by Naidu,” the minister stated.

He said famous actor Rajinikanth had come to Vijayawada for NTR centenary celebrations out of respect for the thespian and following a request by his fellow star Balakrishna.

“NTR is a great actor, celebrating his centenary is also a happy thing for Telugu people. But Chandrababu Naidu has no right to be present at NTR's centenary,” the minister remarked.

He refuted allegations of Naidu that a burial ground had been encroached. He said not even an inch of land has been encroached. “We have constructed 42 shops in front of its compound wall with the help of donors. These will be given to the poor for earning their livelihood,” Rambabu maintained.
