BJP Getting Back into the Game, Former MLA, MLC from Congress to Join Party
Hyderabad: The BJP in Telangana that was being perceived as falling behind the Congress and the BRS, had a busy Friday with a former MLA, a former MLC and two former DCCB chairmen joining it in Delhi.
All four leaders are from the Congress — former MLA Akula Rajendar, former MLC M. Rangareddy, former District Cooperative Credit Bank chairmen M. Jaipal Reddy from Zaheerabad and Laxma Reddy from Ranga Reddy district. They were welcomed into the party fold by party general secretary Tarun Chugh, vice-president D.K. Aruna, Union minister and state party president G. Kishan Reddy, and Telangana elections in-charge Prakash Javadekar, and Huzurabad MLA Etala Rajendar who is also the party’s joinings committee chairman.
Welcoming the leaders, Kishan Reddy said BJP was gaining in strength in Telangana and many youth and others were joining it. “In the days to come more leaders will be joining the BJP and make it ever stronger,” he said. With the joining of leaders on Saturday, Kishan Reddy said, the party has become stronger than before in Ranga Reddy and Vikarabad districts.
It is learnt that a few more former MLAs, including A Sridevi, actress Jayasudha, and B. Sanjeeva Rao, would be joining the BJP soon.
Kishan Reddy said attempts were being made to spread falsehoods about the BJP saying it has a secret understanding with the BRS. “This is absolutely not true. It is the Congress, BRS, and the AIMIM that are together. These three parties signed on the no confidence motion against the Modi government in Parliament. The BRS and Congress voted together in the President elections against the BJP nominee,” he said.
“People in Telangana are tired of the corrupt, autocratic and dynastic Kalvakuntla family rule and were looking to the BJP to rid the state of the BRS government. It is only the BJP that can defeat the BRS party and I urge people to support us and join us,” he said.
