KHAMMAM: The YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) is seriously going about erecting party flag structures (dimmalu) in each and every village in Palair Assembly constituency as part of its promotional activity.
Though the party had planned to set up such flag structures in every village, the program is active in Palair amid news that party president Y.S. Sharmila will contest from here in the next Assembly elections.
YSRTP decided to erect six statues of YSR in the Palair segment apart from 86 structures bearing the party flags. It is recalled that YSRCP, led by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy won three Assembly seats in the erstwhile Khammam district and besides bagging the Khammam Lok Sabha seat in the 2014 elections. YSRTP intends to develop and cultivate a similar vote-bank.
The party succeeded in erecting 30 party flag structures, including in Nelakondapalli, Konigudem, R Gudem, Koratlagudem, Mutapuram, Rajeswarapuram, Chennaram, Ramachandrapuram, Painampalli, Cheruvumadhavaram, Buddharam, Kattukacharam and Bairavunipalli in Nelakondapalli mandal. A statue of YSR has been unveiled in Nelakondapalli.
The party’s Khammam parliament constituency in-charge Lakkineni Sudheer said that people are asking them to erect party flag structures in their lands.
“We want to bring the party to each and every doorstep during the ‘YSR Yadilo Jenda Panduga’ programme”, he said, adding that there has been a good response from dalits, youth, farmers and women in villages.
Sharmila will tour Khammam district extensively through her padayatra programme in order to create a pro-YSRTP atmosphere, Sudheer said.
