BRS, BJP has done nothing for poor: Seethakka
WARANGAL: Mulugu MLA Seethakka said nothing positive has happened to impoverished people in the 10 years that the BRS and BJP governments have been in power. The time has come to stop the control of the BRS in the state and the BJP at the centre, which has deceived the people by making hollow promises, the Congress leader said.
The MLA welcomed the leaders of the BRS who joined the Congress during a meeting held on Monday in Abbapur village of Mulugu district.
Speaking on the occasion, Seethakka noted that the BRS leaders never cared about the poor and never sought to fix their problems. They enchanted the masses with enticing phrases before betraying them by making fake promises.
"Facing a lot of problems, being with the people of Mulugu in their difficult times and understanding their problems when I was striving hard for the welfare of the people, the BRS leaders are making conspiracies against me to win the Mulugu Assembly seat as I am the only sitting MLA of the Congress in the erstwhile Warangal district," she said.
People should not fall prey to the leaders of both parties who try to entice them with various offerings and should respond appropriately by supporting the Congress. She stated that the Congress is the only party working hard for the welfare of the poor.
Later, she approved Rs 80 lakh for the construction of side drains in Abbapur village and promised to give some funding for additional village development projects.
In the presence of MLA Seethakka, BRS leaders S. Vijendar, O. Kumar, Suresh, K. Tirupati, Bhadraiah, and Chinnaiah joined the Congress.
