Congress spreading misinformation about defections: BJP MLA Yatnal
Vijayapura: Accusing the Congress Party of orchestrating misinformation ahead of the forthcoming Parliament election, senior BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal alleged that the Congress Party's efforts to tarnish the image of BJP leaders and promote rumors about their potential defection are rooted in their anxiety over BJP's success.
"Despite securing 135 seats in recent assembly elections, the Congress party appears apprehensive about the potential victory of BJP. The Congress party's actions, like disseminating unfounded notions of weak BJP presence in the state and false claims of BJP leaders joining their ranks, are deliberate attempts to create confusion. Let it be clear – no one from the BJP will defect to Congress," he declared.
“Many of those leaders rumored to be considering joining Congress have held esteemed positions, including that of a minister. Am sure they will not quit the party. It is essential to remember that parliamentary elections are fought with the nation's best interests in mind. Modi's leadership has elevated India on the global stage, and this fact won't be lost on any party member,” he added.
Predicting an optimistic future for the BJP, Yatnal confidently stated that the party is poised to secure over 300 seats across the nation, with 25 of those victories anticipated in Karnataka, and confidently declared Modi's re-election for a third consecutive term as Prime Minister.
Responding to questions regarding BJP leaders meeting with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Yatnal brushed aside any speculation. He clarified that the interactions were focused on seeking additional resources for the development of their respective constituencies, rather than indulging in political discussions.
