Hyderabad DCC Prez Accuses MIM of Exploiting Old City Voters
Hyderabad: Hyderabad DCC president Sameer Waliullah has accused the MIM of exploiting the poor people of the Old City of Hyderabad for decades by inciting religious feelings and diverting attention from its own failures.
He alleged that the MIM leaders had created an atmosphere wherein people were asked to vote for the party without asking any questions about their performance. Consequently, most people in the Old City continued to struggle with poverty while, he alleged, the Owaisi brothers accumulated wealth.
Waliullah contended that MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi was recycling old strategies to confront the Congress which envisions a positive change, in the upcoming Assembly elections.
In a media statement on Friday, Waliullah described Owaisi as the 'crorepati leader' elected by Hyderabad's poor and a covert ally of the BJP. He alleged that Owaisi had challenged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to contest the Lok Sabha election from Hyderabad to appease Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Waliullah said that the world was recognizing Rahul Gandhi's battles against the BJP and that BJP affiliates were constantly trying to defame him.
