YS Jagan Championing Cause of Underprivileged With Pivotal Welfare Schemes
Vijayawada: YSRC Samajika Sadhikara (social empowerment) Bus Yatra, accompanying rallies, and public meetings highlighting the welfare schemes introduced by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for SC, ST, BC and Minority communities in the state have received a mammoth response from the public.
Huge rallies and public meetings marked the seacoast Bapatla, Proddatur and Bheemli on Saturday in AP.
Bapatla's streets buzzed with "Jai Jai Jagan" slogans, as YSRC's Samajika Sadhikara campaign marked its third day. Bapatla MLA Kona Raghupathi, along with hundreds of YSRC party members from BC, SC, ST, Minority and women's wings, welcomed prominent party leaders, including housing minister Jogi Ramesh, regional coordinator V. Vijayasai Reddy, MPs Mopidevi Venkataramana and Nandigam Suresh, and MLCs Umareddy Venkateswarlu and Pothula Sunitha.
The day commenced with senior leaders, including Vijayasai Reddy and Mopidevi Venkataramana paying homage to the YSR statue at Sangulapalem point. A grand bike procession with over 1,500 two-wheelers started from Sangupalem. It traversed through several regions and concluded in Bapatla town by evening.
YSRC leaders visited religious landmarks in Chandole, including Bagalamuki and Pedda Masjid, and joined prayers with respective religious heads. The ruling party leaders inspected Nadu-Nedu development works at Chandole ZP High School and interacted with Class X students.
Vijayasai Reddy emphasised the importance of English language, highlighting AP government's initiatives in enhancing English proficiency among government school students. Interactions with various associations, including of rice millers, followed.
Addressing the media, Vijayasai Reddy targeted Nara Lokesh, saying Telugu Desam’s scion lacks leadership qualities and only an able leader could fulfil the aspirations of people. He asserted that the arrest of TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu cannot be doubted, as the probe agency arrested him only after collecting concrete proof against him in corruption cases.
The MP countered BJP state president Daggubati Purandeswari, charging her with prioritising family and community over state and people.
At a public gathering near the Ambedkar statue at Bapatla's Clock Tower Centre, Mopidevi Venkataramana lauded Jagan Mohan Reddy for championing the cause of underprivileged through pivotal welfare schemes.
Minister Jogi Ramesh acknowledged the strong support the yatra received from Bapatla's public, attributing it to BC, SC, ST, and Minority leaders' efforts on ground. He underlined that 17 of 25 Cabinet ministers hail from the SC and BC communities, which reflects the genuine spirit of social justice in Jagan Mohan Reddy administration.
MP Nandigam Suresh claimed that the YSRC is a party of downtrodden. He termed TD government as a regime of family interests and not for people’s welfare. He maintained that as Naidu failed to deliver on his poll promises, Telugu Desam had lost people’s trust.
