Many BJP leaders dismayed at pre-poll pact with Jana Sena
Hyderabad: The alliance with the Jana Sena has caused among BJP leaders, some of whom fear they will lose their seat. Grapevine is that around seven to eight tickets are likely to go to Jana Sena, including Serilingampally and Kukatpally.
BJP leaders expressed apprehensions that they were being sacrificed for gains in AP.
Former MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, who reportedly is aspiring for the Chevella Lok Sabha ticket, within which Serilingampally Assembly segment falls, is believed to be unhappy with the likelihood of the seat going to Jana Sena. He is backing Ravi Yadav for the ticket.
Serilingampally BJP sources alleged that IT minister K.T. Rama Rao has interests in the real estate and IT industries located in the constituency. Of the 10 corporators in the municipality, two shifted to the Congress and three are said to be looking towards the BJP.
BRS MLA Arekapudi Gandhi does not have the support of the corporators. Hence, the BJP leaders aver that they stand a better chance to win the seat.
Medchal district BJP president Pannala Harish Reddy is opposed to the idea of the party giving up the Kukatpally seat. The Jana Sena has cited the performance of the Praja Rajyam to pitch for constituencies with a predominance of people of AP origin.
Former BJP Hyderabad city secretary C. Malla Reddy expressed his displeasure at not being considered for either party posts or nominated posts despite being a loyalist for 24 years.
