No BC Empowered Under TD regime: Botsa

Visakhapatnam: Animal husbandry minister Dr. Seedari Appala Raju blasted TD president N. Chandrababu Naidu for abusing the fishermen community and Nai Brahmins during his regime.

Addressing a public meeting in connection with Samajika Sadhikara campaign at Bheemili near Visakhapatnam on Saturday, Appala Raju, who belongs to fishermen community, said both these oppressed communities would never forgive Chandrababu Naidu for his utterances against them.

“Instead of uplifting them by giving sops, Chandrababu Naidu threatened to maul them under his feet,” Appala Raju alleged.

Contrary to this, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy gave utmost importance to all communities within SC, ST, BC and minorities, making some of their members as deputy chief ministers.

Calling the TD chief as king of corruption, the minister said Samajika Sadhikara yatras have seen major success at Ichchapuram, Gajapathinagaram and now in Bheemili.

Social welfare minister Merugu Nagarjuna said SC, ST, BC and Minorities benefited the most under YSRC rule. In housing alone, 20 percent of the beneficiaries are from SC community, he underlined.

“But the Opposition parties have launched a campaign against these welfare schemes with the help of their media friends,” Nagarjuna underlined.

Education minister Botsa Satyanarayana said YSRC government rendered justice to all, with the main focus being on oppressed classes.

“Some media houses, unable to digest the success of bus yatras, are misleading saying people are not participating,” Satyanarayana said.

Former minister and Bheemili MLA Muttamsetti Srinivas Rao (Avanti) said response to the yatra is overwhelming, as those from the government are participating in the yatras wholeheartedly.

He said Jagan Mohan Reddy has also given importance to Yadava community in north Andhra, including giving the most important post of Visakhapatnam mayor to Yadava leader G. Hari Venkata Kumari, VMRDA chairperson position to Akkaramani Vijayanirmala and making Vamsi Krishna Yadav an MLC.

Speaking on the occasion, industries minister Gudivada Amarnath said response from people to social justice bus yatra has been impressive.
