TD-JS resolve to jointly defeat YSRC, hold coordination panel meets

Kakinada: Telugu Desam Politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu called on the Telugu Desam and Jana Sena rank and file to ensure that the YSRC does not win even a single seat in the coming elections.

“We should garner 70 per cent of the votes in each constituency,” he said at the TD-JS joint committee meeting for erstwhile East Godavari district here on Sunday.

Ramakrishnudu said, “We should work with proper coordination, keep aside differences.”

TD leader Nara Lokesh and Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan also urged the people to defeat the YSRC. Both said the joint coordination committees should work as per the instructions of the state committee.

Former minister Kollu Ravindra said Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan had supported the Telugu Desam in the 2014 elections “without aspiring for a single seat” and the TD won the elections. “In 2019, the two parties fought the elections separately, but were defeated. This gave a chance to the YSRC.”

He said Pawan Kalyan has supported the TD. These two parties would win the coming elections. Jana Sena’s East Godavari district president Kandula Durgesh said the YSRC was hatching a conspiracy to split the cadres of the TD and JS parties but “we should not give such a chance to the ruling party.”

Jana Sena observer Siva Sankar said the TD and JS would defeat the YSRC in the coming elections and develop the state.

The leaders said the state government was not able to provide water to the paddyfields during this Khariff season and farmers were committing suicide, unable to clear their debts.

Three resolutions were passed in the meeting -- that the TD and JS should jointly go to the people, make door-to-door campaigns and explain the anarchy under the YSRC rule, expose the irregularities and illegal sand, earth, liquor and mineral deals, to the people. Besides, a joint manifesto should be prepared as early as possible.

Peddapuram MLA Nimmakayala Chinnarajappa, Rajamahendravaram Rural MLA Buchaiah Chowdary, former minister KS Jawahar, Gollapalli Suryarao, former MLAs Jyothula Apparao, Pilli Ananthalakshmi, Jana Sena leaders Pithani Balakrishna, S Rajababu, Tummala Babu and others were present.

VISAKHAPATNAM

The coordination committee meeting of the Jana Sena and TD held in Visakhapatnam on Sunday decided to launch a vigorous campaign at the grass-roots level to expose the anti-people policies of the ruling YSRC government. They would launch the campaign from Nov 1, said the leaders.

The coordination meetings for five districts were held on Sunday.

Jana Sena observer for Vizianagaram district Tata Rao said both the parties would work on minimum common programmes. Local issues of Vizianagaram district like the Thotapalli reservoir issues and migration of unemployed youths to other states were also discussed and these would be listed in the common programme of agitation.

Former central minister and TD politburo member Ashok Gajapthiraju, party district president Kimidi Nagarjuna, Sandhya Rani, former minister Sujana Krishna Ranga Rao, Bhanj Deo and Kolla Lalith Kumari and 40 others represented TD while Lokam Madhavi , former minister Padala Arun and 50 local leaders from the Jana Sena participated.

In Srikakulam, MP Rama Manohar Naidu, politburo member and TD mahila president Vangalapudi Anitha, Srikakulam district president and former MLA Kuna Ravikumar participated on behalf of the TD. Jana Sena coordinator Palavalasa Yasaswini, Bammidi Nayakar and others participated.

Naidu said both the parties were determined to win all the 175 assembly segments including Pulivendula.

ANANTAPUR

Leaders of TD and Jana Sena held a coordination meeting of Anantapur area here on Sunday and announced that both parties will fight with a target to oust Jagan Mohan Reddy from power in the next elections. Leaders, mostly incharges of both the parties and main leaders were present.

The committee resolved to jointly fight the polls in all the assembly segments and also hold meetings at mandal level against the “apathetic policies of the YSRC government and against the alleged police harassment of leaders and cadres of both the parties in the name of false cases across the state.

TD politburo member Kalava Srinivasulu said both the leaders decided to hold demonstrations against the YSRC government over corruption and lack of development. Jana Sena state secretary Madhusudhan Reddy said JS chief Pawan Kalyan was firm on a fight against the YSRC. Leaders of TD and JS from Anantapur and Satya Sai districts participated in the meeting.
