Dr Laxman elected to Parliament's PAC
Hyderabad: BJP Rajya Sabha member Dr. K. Laxman has been elected to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Parliament. His term will last from May 1 to April 30, next year.
He is also the president of the BJP’s national OBC Morcha, and a member of the party’s Parliamentary Board.
The former MLA from Musheerabad thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president J.P. Nadda, and general secretary B.L. Santosh for his election to the PAC.
The PAC is constituted each year and is vested with the responsibility of examining accounts relating to the appropriation of sums granted by Parliament for government expenditure, annual finance accounts, and of accounts of autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies. The committee also scrutinizes reports from the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG).
