Siddaramaiah insulted Kannadigas, must apologise: BS Yeddyurappa
Kalaburagi: “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should be ashamed of saying sorry to Marathas for not being able to speak in Marathi when he addressed a rally in Belagavi,” said state BJP president B.S. Yeddyurappa here on Sunday.
“It is a big insult to Kannadigas. The chief minister has committed an unpardonable mistake. Marathis are not our enemies, but Mr Siddaramaiah should not have insulted the Kannadigas. He should tender an apology,” he said. “Avnobba tale tiruka (he is a madcap),” said Mr Yeddyurappa describing Mr Siddaramaiah, when his attention was drawn to the chief minister’s comment that the BJP state president is hallucinating about becoming the next chief minister of the state.
Mr Yeddyurappa said, “If Mr Siddaramaiah had the guts, he should have won from Chamundeshwari. He has fled to Badami as he is scared of a defeat. But it is certain that he will lose both seats. Siddaramaiah will be the last chief minister of Congress.”
On the allegation of former BJP leader Revu Naik Belamagi that the ticket for the Kalaburagi Rural seat has been sold to a newcomer, Mr Yeddyurappa first said that there is no point in talking about a person who is no more with the party. But immediately, he added, “Mr Belamagi was denied the ticket as he was foisting false cases against Lingayat leaders by joining hands with Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge.”
On mine scam tainted G. Janadhan Reddy campaigning for Mr Sriramulu, Mr Yeddyurappa said, “Our party did not seek support from him. But our party will take support from anyone who extends it to win the election.”
