AP BJP president calls for protests against restrictions
Vijayawada: BJP state president Somu Veerraju has given a call to the BJP activists across AP to participate in a state-wide protest against the state government against “restrictions” on the setting up of pandals during the Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations.
Addressing a party event here on Sunday, Veerraju said that, in this respect, the BJP would give a representation to tahsildars. “Vinayaka Chavithi is celebrated with devotion by the Hindus. The government restrictions are anti-Hindu and is vitiating the festival mood.”
Veerraju expressed the suspicion that there was a conspiracy to discourage the organisers of Vinayaka Chavithi festivals so as to reduce the number of pandals across AP. “The government is harassing the organisers of Vinayaka Chavithi by forcing them to obtain various types of permissions like never before.”
Veerraju urged chief minister Jagan Reddy to issue appropriate orders and ensure that only mike permission from the police is required for the pandal organisers for Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations. The permission should be granted under a single window system, he said.
