Bhupalapally first constituency to be won by Congress in 2023: Revanth Reddy
WARANGAL: An impressive crowd welcomed TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy at Bhupalpally on Thursday. Following a huge rally through the coal town, he welcomed Gandra Satyanarayana Rao into the party fold along with a long list of followers.
Speaking on the occasion, Revanth Reddy said he was confident that Bhupalpally would be the first of the 119 Assembly constituencies in the state that the Congress would win in 2023.
Alleging that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had turned Telangana state into a graveyard, he said the the rights of Singareni Collieries has been ignored after the TRS came to power. Open cast mining had not only affected Bhupalpally but also Adilabad, Ashwaraopet and Khammam districts by polluting the natural resources.
Revanth Reddy sought to know if Chandrashekar Rao or TRS working president and minister K.T. Rama Rao had ever strived to protect the rights of the people despite coming to power twice.
“Did 1,200 students sacrifice their lives to help KCR and his family enjoy plum posts,” he asked.
He said that the CM had stated that the ‘Naxalite agenda’ was the TRS agenda. Which agenda suggested that Rao’s family should be given all the posts or benefit from businesses with people from Andhra Pradesh, the Congress leader asked.
Speaking about the situation of Bhupalpally, he said even though Chandrashekar Rao had named the district after Telangana idealogue Prof. A. Jayashankar, he was showing little respect by ignoring basic facilities.
“Sand lorries are causing numerous issues to the locals but a bypass road is still not being constructed,” Revanth Reddy said.
Calling Bhupalpally MLA Gandra Venkataramana Reddy a scamster, Revanth Reddy said the MLA had joined the TRS to protect his businesses and make his wife the zilla parishad chairperson.
“Today both wife and husband have no link to Bhupalpally. They can never do justice to the people. Their only focus is to exploit the sand, coal and land here. Their political career has come to an end.”
Appreciating those who joined the Congress on Thursday, he said it was the responsibility of Congress activists to ensure that Gandra Satyanarayana Rao won from there in 2023.
