HYDERABAD: BRS working president and minister K.T. Rama Rao on Friday called Prime Minister Narendra Modi “a trickster who is coming to Telangana in search of votes,” and demanded that he explain why the Central government was reluctant to declare the Palamuru Rangareddy lift irrigation scheme (PRLIS) as a national project.
Addressing a public meeting in Wanaparthy in support of BRS candidate and agriculture minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy for the Assembly elections, Rama Rao said, “Modi must explain why he has such a vengeful attitude towards Telangana. He must also say why he is not putting the one signature that will give Telangana its rightful share of 575 tmc ft (thousand million cubic feet of water) from the Krishna river.”
Rama Rao also said the Centre was sitting on resolutions sent by the Assembly on including the Valmiki Boya community in the list of Scheduled Caste communities. Calling on the people to vote for the BRS in the coming elections, Rama Rao said “let us be the Juggernaut that will crush our opponents under its wheels.”
