Vijayawada: Minister for water resources Ambati Rambabu has said there was a big conspiracy behind the recent attack on him and suspected that a socially dominant section hatched a conspiracy to eliminate him.
He said, however, “no party or person who has committed physical attacks on leaders and people ever got mass support. The public will not support these attacks.”
Following reports that some TD leaders tried to attack minister Rambabu in Khammam, several YSR Congress leaders visited the minister and expressed their solidarity, in Guntur on Monday.
Rambabu said that nine of those who tried to attack him have been identified and six of them arrested. “They all belong to the same social class.” Kapu community leaders Adapa Seshu and others said minister Rambabu has increased the self-respect of Kapus.
The minister termed Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan as a “Kirayi Kotigadu-KK” (hired goon) working and hypothecating the Jana Sena for Chandrababu Naidu.
“Extremists are created in a socially dominant segment of the population. These extremists are destroying the TD. If TD is strong, can it contest the Telangana assembly elections all alone?”
“None of the parties or individuals involved in the physical attacks had ever been spared. When there was an attack on Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham, I condemned it. Pawan Kalyan is not PK. He is a hired goon. Pawan does not condemn attack on me because he is hired by Naidu,” the minister said.
