Nagam quits Congress, to join BRS in two days
Hyderabad: Senior leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Sunday tendered his resignation to the Congress. He announced that he would join the BRS in a day or two after party leaders and ministers K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao met him at his residence soon after his resignation and invited him to join the ruling party.
Janardhan Reddy was angry with the Congress leadership for denying him a ticket to contest the Assembly election from Nagarkurnool. The Congress declared as its candidate, Kuchukulla Rajesh Reddy who is the son of BRS MLC Kuchukulla Damodar Reddy.
Janardhan Reddy said by denying him a ticket had not only insulted a senior leader like him but also party workers.
Rama Rao and Harish Rao said that they met Janardhan Reddy and invited him into the BRS as per the directions of party president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. They said that Janardhan Reddy and Chandrashekar Rao had a long association of nearly two decades while they were in the Telugu Desam.
Rama Rao thanked Janardhan Reddy for accepting their invitation and expressing his willingness to join the BRS. He said the BRS leadership will give due recognition to Janardhan Reddy and his supporters in the party.
