K Chandrasekhar Rao wants health profile of all
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has instructed officials to record the health profile of every individual after conducting diagnostic tests. He said similar to the Kanti Velugu camps, screening tests for people across the state for ear, nose, dental and throat problems should be conducted.
Mr Rao was speaking at a high-level review meeting on Saturday at Pragathi Bhavan on the subjects of irrigation projects, medical camps, Panchayat elections and others. Mr Rao said that while continuing to give importance to the irrigation sector, emphasis would be given to the health and education sectors.
Mr Rao instructed officials to hold medical camps for screening problems concerned with ear, nose, throat and dental similar to the one done for eye screening through the Kanti Velugu programme.
The CM expressed satisfaction over the successful completion of Kanti Velugu across the state and said that it had been immensely useful to the people. He has suggested to the officials that they should begin screening tests for ear, nose, dental and throat sometime in February next year since an action plan has to be evolved.
He said based on the health profile of every individual, the health status of the people of the state should be prepared. He added that for the ensuing elections to the Panchayat Raj, arrangements had been made in the state.
Mr Rao instructed the officers to expedite completion of the lift irrigation projects of Kaleshw-aram, Palamuru-Ranga-reddy, Sitarama, Dindi, Sriramsagar revival scheme and others. The CM told them to prepare a draft report as to what extent and at what stage of completion each and every project was in.
He wanted to know how much work was still left, the money required in future and the drawbacks. Mr Rao made it clear that even next year in the Budget adequate budgetary provision would be made for irrigation projects in addition to mobilizing funds from various sources.
