Uttam Kumar Reddy slams BJP and TRS alliance

Mr Reddy alleged that the BJP and MIM were having understanding to gain political mileage by dividing people on communal lines.

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president MP N. Uttam Kumar Reddy expressed deep concern over the BJP and the TRS not following the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi of truth, peace and secularism.

Speaking on the 72nd martyrdom day of Mahatma Gandhi at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, he said BJP has no moral right to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. He said that the BJP takes out Sankalp Yatra to express its love for Gandhi while on the other hand its leaders praise Nathuram Godse.

He condemned the BJP for trying to extract political gains out of Mahatma Gandhi while ignoring his ideals and teachings.

Mr Reddy alleged that the BJP and MIM were having understanding to gain political mileage by dividing people on communal lines.

He said that the incidents of violence and the result of the Bhainsa municipality elections were a clear example of how these parties were making political gains by creating communal divide.

He said that TRS was part of the secret alliance between BJP and MIM. The TRS is having an understanding with the BJP at the Centre while it is sailing with MIM in Telangana state. He said the TRS-BJP-MIM trio were cheating the people to extract political benefits. Paying rich tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, he said that the Congress was following his teachings to bring justice and equality.
