PCC to get secretaries in Thakre’s next visit
Hyderabad: With AICC in-charge Manikrao Thakre likely to visit the city in February's first week, expansion of the PCC committees is on the cards.
Top leaders like Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, the Bhongir MP, is said to be
lobbying in Delhi to ensure that his loyalists find a place in the new
committees.
According to party sources, Thakre may clear the list of all PCC secretaries
and names for DCC presidents for nine districts including Sanga Reddy, Ranga
Reddy, Jangaon, Secunderabad, Suryapet, Bhupalpally, Khammam amongst others.
“Thakre may also give nod for appointment of some more general secretaries
and vice-presidents,” a senior leader said.
On December 10, the AICC approved the constitution of the executive and
political affairs committee with 40 and 22 members each. It also cleared a
list of 26 DCC presidents, 24 vice presidents and 84 general secretaries,
but not secretaries.
“Since the number of general secretaries may go up, the number of
secretaries could be around 100,” the leader added.
