Mumbai police book Raja Singh for hate speech

HYDERABAD: Goshamahal legislator from BJP, T. Raja Singh, has been booked by Mumbai police, who registered a case under section 153A (I)(a), for allegedly delivering a hate speech during a rally in Mumbai on January 29, a police official said.

Although the case was registered for his alleged provocative statements aimed at a particular community four days back, it came to light on Thursday. Singh reportedly sought a law on love jihad, cow slaughter and conversions at a rally organised by a local outfit, Hindu Sakal Samaj.

The morcha was held to discuss various issues pertaining to Hindus, especially women.

Meanwhile, Mangalhat police issued a show cause notice to Singh terming the speech as a violation of High Court guidelines while setting aside the PD Act invoked by the city police against him.
