HYDERABAD: AICC Telangana in-charge Manikrao Thakre on Monday directed chairmen and members of all affiliated wings to mingle with the people and strengthen party activities in the run up to the ensuing elections.
Thakre was addressing a meeting of all Congress-affiliated wings, including mahila, minority, youth and NSUI, at Gandhi Bhavan here on Monday. He also reviewed each wing’s activities with regard to people's issues.
The participants brought to his notice the grim situation in Khammam, Bhadradri, Warangal, Mulugu and Hanamkonda and the failure of the government machinery in taking up relief and rehabilitation measures. He asked all of them to actively participate in flood relief programmes that are being organised by the Congress party.
Meanwhile, Youth Congress leaders, including Mittakanti R.G. Vinod Reddy collected relief material from different places. These will be distributed to flood victims in Warangal, Karimnagar, Hanumakonda, Khammam, and Mulugu districts from Wednesday.
