Hyderabad: The BRS will reach out to 30 lakh beneficiaries of recent welfare schemes in the next 50 days to seek their and their families’ support for the upcoming Assembly elections.
These schemes include crop loan waiver, BC Bandhu, Minority Bandhu, Gruha Lakshmi, regularisation of village revenue officers and assistance, and TSRTC merger, among others.
Party sources said that BRS candidates for Assembly polls, most of whom are MLAs, were asked to hold ‘Atmeeya Sammelanams (outreach programmes)’ with beneficiaries and their family members, scheme-wise and category-wise, in September.
The party leadership strongly believes that these decisions have created a ‘positive impact’ among various sections of people towards BRS and it’s up to the MLAs to capitalise on this factor, sources said.
As per the directions, candidates would invite beneficiaries, along with their families, for the Atmeeys Sammelanams and organise these events at local function halls, so that legislators can mingle with the public.
Further, the party directed that the programmes should start at 11 am and continue till 5 pm. Candidates must arrange lunch and snacks for the participants, and eat their meals together. They should encourage beneficiaries and family members to speak and share their experiences on how the BRS government benefitted them and how Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao fulfilled their long-pending demands.
Towards the end of the event, MLAs or candidates should address the meeting, appealing to beneficiaries and family members to bless Chandrashekar Rao in the upcoming Assembly polls, in return for the benefits received by them.
The party leadership calculates that if it were able to win the support of these beneficiaries and their family members, it would translate to nearly one crore votes, which would ensure a consecutive third term for the BRS government.
