HYDERABAD: BJP election committee chairperson Etala Rajendar on Wednesday said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was facing severe anti-incumbency in the Gajwel Assembly constituency, claiming that surveys indicated that voters in the segment sought to vote out Rao.
“I dared the CM to contest against me in Gajwel, but he left for Kamareddy,” Rajendar said.
The Huzurabad MLA was addressing mediapersons at the BJP core committee meeting for 10 Assembly constituencies in the undivided Medak district, at Sangareddy.
Rajender accused Chandrashekar Rao of disappointing the people of Gajwel, citing he never met them for the past five years. “Despite allocating lands to the poor people, the BRS government dragged the assignment lands from Dalits,” he alleged.
Rajendar said that only the Chief Minister, and not the BRS MLAs, was facing opposition from the people. “Rao had already admitted that few BRS MLAs were involved in corruption practices and 40 per cent of MLAs will be replaced in the elections. Announcement of all BRS MLAs in one go shows the weakness of KCR,” he said.
“BRS is planning to win Assembly elections with money and liquor, but people are ready to teach them a fitting lesson. If people vote for Congress, MLAs will join BRS. BJP is the only party to benefit the entire Telangana society. Ousting the BRS government is the only solution for all the problems of Telangana people,” he said.
