BJP Cadres Resent Seat Sharing With Jana Sena

Hyderabad: Dissenting voices in the BJP are growing louder with leaders going public against seat allocation to its alliance partner Jana Sena.

Supporters of a BJP ticket aspirant from Kukatpally — which is being handed over to the partner — wondered how his party could tie up with the Jana Sena which has minimal presence even in Andhra Pradesh. “While we have been campaigning for the BJP, how can we ask people to vote for Jana Sena now,” one of them asked.

The BJP cadre believe BRS candidate Madhavaram Krishna Rao will have a free ride at Kukatpally, thanks to the infighting in the opposition ranks.

Claiming that Kukatpally has always been a stronghold for the BJP, the local party leaders said, “In the GHMC elections, the BJP got 73,214 and the BRS got 1,03,000 votes. We stand a better chance.”

The leaders have promised to take up the seat sharing issue in Delhi, said Harish Reddy who aspires to contest from Kukatpally.

Another group of dissenters who sat on the steps of the BJP state office from Narsapur blamed Eatala Rajender for giving the ticket to Murali Yadav.

“The candidate has been to various parties and then joined the BJP eight months back. I was with the RSS from the beginning. We strengthened the party, that's why people from other parties are coming. We are the foot soldiers,” said Singayapally Gopi, who failed to get the ticket.
