Kasani resigns from TDP after party decides to stay away from TS polls

Hyderabad: Telangana TDP president Kasani Gnaneshwar Mudhiraj resigned from the primary membership of the party peeved by its decision to not contest the polls in Telangana.

Releasing his resignation letter, addressed to party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, at a press conference here on Monday, he said, “I held a meeting in Khammam at Naidu’s request. I was told that the next meeting would be held in Nizamabad. We held a house to house contact programme and celebrated the 41st party formation day. I even met Naidu in jail. Nara Lokesh is not even taking my phone calls.”

He said, “Instead of striving to protect the party using the resources at our command, the decision against contesting elections here will make our existence in Telangana questionable. Even small parties like BSP and Jana Sena are in the fray. I believe a party which has been at the heart of Telugu peoples aspirations should not give up a fight. My plans to field many BCs have come to naught.”

“I will consult my cadre and take a decision on my future course of action. The TDP, which is having a truck with Jana Sena in Andhra Pradesh, is joining the BJP in Telangana. I fail to understand this,” he wrote.

He added, “Even Balakrishna, who met me in NTR Bhavan, is not responding to my calls. I spent money on all the party activities from my pocket.”
