BRS blames Jupally Krishna Rao for party leader’s murder in Kolhapur

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Thursday demanded a probe into what he termed a political murder of one of his party leaders in Kolhapur. The deceased was identified as Boddu Sridhar Reddy, 53, a resident of Laxmipally village of Chinnambavi mandal of Wanaparthy district. He was an active BRS leader in the village.

Meanwhile, minister of excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao rejected the BRS working president’s allegations, saying no Congress leaders or activists committed the offence. He said the murder was due to financial transactions and disputes with known people.

Miscreants axed Boddu Sridhar to death in the wee hours when he was sleeping at his farm land in laxmipally. Neighbours who visited the place noticed Sridhar Reddy in a pool of blood and informed his family. Police were informed by the family.

Sridhar Reddy’s killing has sparked off a political furor with the BRS accusing that the murder could not have taken place without the knowledge of Jupally Krishna Rao who is the MLA from Kolhapur.

Rama Rao, who rushed to Laxmipally, demanded that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy immediately sack Jupally from the Cabinet. “If the Chief Minister is sincere about finding the killers, he should first remove Jupally Krishna Rao from the Cabinet. Sridhar Reddy’s 80-year-old father told me that he was being pressured by the police not to name the minister in his complaint,” Rama Rao said.
