BRS Demands High Level Review on Farm Sector Problems
Hyderabad: The BRS on Tuesday attacked the state government over making farmers wait in long lines for purchasing cotton seeds, and the incident of police using force to disperse farmers in a queue in Adilabad district. BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao strongly condemned the police action saying it was “shameful that the Chief Minister is busy with election campaigns in other states and visits to Delhi while farmers are being attacked in the state.”
Rama Rao demanded “an immediate high-level review meeting on issues farmers in the state are facing, seed shortages, distribution, and the government's failures to alleviate the farmers' difficulties.” He said farmers being forced to wait in long queues for seeds is an administrative failure and it took less than five months of Congress rule for the agriculture sector to collapse into a crisis in the state.
“The BRS party,” he said, “will not tolerate such atrocities on farmers,” and demanded immediate action to solve the problems being faced by farmers.
