Etela opposes govt. move to hike land prices
Nalgonda: BJP leader Etala Rajendar on Sunday strongly opposed the state government’s move to raise market value of lands so that its revenues from registration charges go up.
Addressing the media along with party leader N. Ramchander Rao at the party office here, Rajendar said he knew the nature of Congress leaders and would have more interest in amassing wealth than in the welfare of people.
He said it was unfortunate that the state government is planning to hike the market value of lands which would destroy the dream of people to have their own houses.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s allegation of the ‘RR’ tax being collected by Congress leaders, Rajendar cautioned that the real estate sector would collapse if the present situation continued.
He said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had lost the faith of people in a short time as he had failed to fulfil the pre-poll promises of crop loan waiver, `500 bonus on paddy and `2,500 financial aid to each woman aged above 18 years.
Stating that BJP has always put a premium on social justice, he pointed out that Union Council of Ministers had 27 from the OBC communities, 12 Dalits, eight tribals and five members from minority groups.
