Revanth Directs Officials to Frame Industrial Policy for the Telangana

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday directed officials to formulate a new industrial policy for the overall development of the industrial sector. He suggested officials formulate an industrial policy that could compete with other countries in industrial development.

He was speaking at a review meeting with officials of the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) on Tuesday and made suggestions for the policy.

IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu, principal secretary Jayesh Ranjan, TGIIC managing director E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, and senior officials were present in the meeting.

Revanth Reddy visited Parisharama Bhavan, the head office of TGIIC in Basheerbagh, to conduct the review meeting, a first for a Chief Minster.

The officials explained to the Chief Minister the decisions were taken in the previous review meetings and the progress of the works. Revanth advised the officials to formulate a new policy that could benefit the powerloom and handloom workers by promoting the textile industry in the state.

Officials told the Chief Minister that six new policies will be formulated for industrial development to cover MSMEs, exports, new life sciences, EVs, medical tourism, and green energy.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to finalise the industrial policies before the end of the election code on June 4. He also asked the officials to study the best industrial policies adopted in other countries.
