Rich Tributes Paid to Jaipal Reddy on His 82nd Birth Anniversary
HYDERABAD: State ministers, Congress leaders and officials paid rich tributes to former Union minister S. Jaipal Reddy, on the occasion of his 82nd birth anniversary on Tuesday. Jaipal Reddy passed away in 2019 at the age of 77.
Spoorthi Sthal, his memorial at PVNR Marg, was dedicated to the people. It is located near the memorial of former prime minister P.V. Narasimha Rao.
The newly-formed Congress government has decided to hold the official birth and death anniversary of Jaipal Reddy and issued orders to this effect on January 12.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who is married to the niece of Jaipal Reddy, paid tributes to the late leader. Revanth Reddy, who is away in Davos, posted his tribute on ‘X' (formerly Twitter), describing Jaipal Reddy as a symbol of Gandhism and called the former minister the pride of Telangana.
Revanth Reddy's wife A. Geetha and their daughter Nymisha visited Jaipal Reddy's memorial and paid floral tributes along with the family members of Jaipal Reddy.
Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy highlighted Jaipal Reddy's significant contributions to Telangana and his pivotal role in the creation of state. He credited Jaipal Reddy with the successful implementation of the Hyderabad Metro Rail system when he was Union minister for urban affairs in UPA government.
Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao remembered Jaipal Reddy as the best Lok Sabha member and emphasised that his absence was felt not just in Telangana but throughout the country.
