Rahul To Attend Vijay’s Oath Ceremony
The party has already extended support from its five MLAs in the state to Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), following a request from the outfit.

New Delhi: Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi is set to attend the oath-taking ceremony of actor-turned-politician Vijay at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, indicating a possible shift in political alignments in Tamil Nadu. The development comes amid indications that the Congress is reassessing its long-standing association with the DMK led by M.K. Stalin. The party has already extended support from its five MLAs in the state to Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), following a request from the outfit.
Simultaneously, the party has initiated consultations in Kerala over leadership selection. Senior leaders Mukul Wasnik and Ajay Maken have been appointed observers to interact with MLAs and assess preferences for the chief minister’s post. Among those in contention are Ramesh Chennithala, V.D. Satheesan and K.C. Venugopal, reflecting increased factional activity within the state unit. Several leaders have also urged the party high command to rule out a rotational chief minister arrangement and instead opt for a clear leadership structure.
