Chennai: Thanking the cadre who stood by the party and all those who voted for it in the Lok Sabha elections, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami said the results that came out on Tuesday were only on expected lines with cunning people taking advantage of money power, administrative dominance, false propaganda and unrighteous machinations while proving that the AIADMK was invincible.
Reacting to the results in which the AIADMK and its allies drew a blank, he said the elections had proclaimed to the world that the AIADMK viewed power only as a means to serve the people and that upholding its principles without compromising on the welfare of the people and pledging the State’s greatness by being in the shadow of domineering forces was right way to play politics.
Recalling that people have written off the AIADMK before the 1980, 2004 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections and also the 1996 and 2021 Assembly elections, he said that the party had overcome all those doomsday predictions and even won 75 seats in the State Assembly in 2021.
The elections, which had taught lessons for contesting the coming Assembly polls successfully, however, did not reflect the aspirations of the people and hence would not in any way cow down the party, which would emerge victorious in 2026, he said.
