Sikhs to Celebrate Prakash Purab of Guru Gobind Singh on Sunday
Hyderabad: The Sikh community is getting ready for the 357 Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth and last Sikh Guru and founder of the Khalsa Panth, with a colourful ‘Vishaal Deewan’ at Classic Garden, Balamrai here on Sunday.
The celebrations will feature recitations of Gurbani Kirtans and Vichar by reputed preachers coming from all over the country.
According to Gurudwara SSaheb Secunderabad (GSS) Prabandhak committee president S. Baldev Singh Bagga, the Vishaal Deewan will see a congregation of hundreds of Sikh devotees and those from other faiths.
He said “popular Ragi Jathas, Bhai Amarjeet Singh, Bhai Mehatab Singh, Bhai Jagdev Singh and Bhai Charanjeet Singh will recite shabad keertans and throw light on the teachings of Sikh Gurus.”
S. Jagmohan Singh, general secretary of the committee said that a night kirtan darbar will be held at Gurudwara Saheb, Secunderabad, from 7 pm to 10 pm on January 20. It will be followed by guru ka langar.
