Warangal: Over the issue of a French leave that he had allegedly taken, an employee of the agriculture office in Bhupalpally attacked district agriculture officer (DAO) M. Vijay Bhaskar on Friday.
Bhaskar had noticed thin attendance in the office and asked about the absentees as they had not taken leave.
Upon learning that assistant director of agriculture (ADA) M. Sridhar took leave on January 16 and 17 without obtaining permission, Bhaskar marked him absent on the two days in the attendance register.
On Friday morning, Sridhar came to the office and noticed his absence marked in the register. Angered by this, he rushed to the DAO’s chamber, began arguing and allegedly slapped the Bhaskar and issued a threat. Bhaskar lodged a complaint with the district collector.
