Hyderabad: A 16-year-old junior college student died by suicide after stabbing two minor girls over a birthday cake cutting event, railway police said on Friday. The incident occurred near the Kacheguda railway station.
According to railway inspector Ellappa, the boy, a resident of Baghlingampally Vadderabasthi and a first year Intermediate student, had planned to cut his birthday cake with the girl from the same college with whom he claimed to be in love. She refused and he attempted to stab her with a knife. Another girl came to her rescue and he attacked her as well.
The girls were taken to a hospital for treatment. The boy might have got scared and died by suicide, police said. The suicide came to light when his friends discovered a message that he had sent on Whatsapp expressing his intention to end his life.
