Telangana: Parties Gear Up for Celebrations

Hyderabad: The ruling Congress ordered sweets from the party fund for the celebrations at Gandhi Bhavan and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s residence. The BJP is putting up large screens and its leaders will distribute sweets, while the BRS wants to make it a low-key affair as they all gear up for the Lok Sabha election results on Tuesday. The Congress and the BJP are ready with trumpets.

Making hay amid these developments and anticipations are not only sweet shops but also florists and floral merchants, who are readying massive garlands befitting the celebrations.

Bolstered by exit poll verdicts, BJP spokesperson N.V. Subash explained, “We have planned grand celebrations. We will put up a large screen at our state headquarters.” ‘Meanwhile, Beeshwa Om Prakesh, the state vice-president of SC morcha, said “we have planned a holi-type celebration and ordered ‘gulal’. We have also ordered 100 special ‘Modi’ flags, which will be carried during a rally from Abids to the Nampally party office.”

C. Rohin Reddy of the Congress explained, “The exit polls are fabricated and we are sure that our party will emerge in flying colours. This calls for a massive celebration.”

Meanwhile, a senior BRS said “the party never believed in loud celebrations. Senior leaders will be coming to the party office and watching the election results from there.”

All AIMIM leaders will be present at its party headquarters.
