Telangana: State Anthem Set for Release on June 2
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday suggested several modifications to the state’s official anthem — Jaya Jaya He Telangana — which was written by the lyricist Ande Sri and composed by music director M.M. Keeravani.
Revanth Reddy interacted with Ande Sri and Keeravani and discussed the modifications, which were based on the recommendations that he received at the recent Cabinet meeting.
The 1.5-minute-long anthem is tuned to reflect the Telangana culture and its traditions. It would also recall the contributions of martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the Telangana movement.
The state anthem would be released during the official State Formation Day celebrations on June 2 at Parade Ground in Secunderabad. The government had invited AICC leader Sonia Gandhi to the event and she is scheduled to release the anthem.
After being released officially on June 2, it would be played at all government educational institutions, schools and government offices.
Keeravani explained some notes to the Chief Minister, which were allowed partially. Based on the Chief Minister's suggestions, Keeravani played the tunes on keyboard. The lyricist Andesri agreed to modify the anthem based on the Chief Minister's suggestions. Revanth Reddy expressed his gratitude to Ande Sri and Keeravani for their contribution to the anthem.
In the interaction, the state government's adviser Vem Narender Reddy and others participated.
