Trouble brewing for BJP combine govt in Maharashtra as Shinde and Ajit MLAs mull ghar wapsi
Mumbai: After the victory of two Sharad Pawar-led NCP MPs, Nilesh Lanke and Bajrang Sonawane, who switched from the Ajit Pawar faction during the seat distribution for the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls, some MLAs from the Ajit Pawar faction are trying to re-establish a connection with Sharad Pawar faction.
Nearly 18 to 19 MLAs are interested in returning to the party, according to a top leader from the Sharad Pawar-led faction, as quoted by a leading newspaper.
The Ajit-led NCP showed poor performance in the elections, winning only one of the four seats they contested. Sources said discontent among MLAs was palpable when the party secured only four of the 48 Assembly constituencies.
NCP (SCP) state president Jayant Patil stated that the decision to take back such MLAs rests with Sharad Pawar.
