We support mutual cooperation but..: BNP responds to India hosting Sheikh Hasina

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), the principal opposition to the Awami League, has raised concerns over India hosting their former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who fled the country after resigning to the post on Monday.
Hasina was forced to resign and flee the country following widespread protests by students.
The Awami League president fled the country and reached India where the government extended full support to her and said that it is her choice to stay in India or seek asylum in another country.
It is in this backdrop, a senior leader from the BNP told the Times of India that his party supports mutual cooperation between Bangladesh and India. However, "If you help our enemy then it becomes difficult for that mutual cooperation to be honoured."
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi congratulated Professor Muhammad Yunus on the assumption of his new responsibilities as the caretaker of the interim government and asserted that "India is committed to working with Bangladesh to fulfill the shared aspirations of both our peoples for peace, security and development."
