5 Bidar Devotees Die in Varanasi Road Accident
A cruiser jeep carrying 14 Bidar pilgrims to Prayagraj for Mahakumbh crashed in Varanasi, killing five and injuring seven

Bidar: Five individuals from Bidar lost their lives, and seven others sustained injuries in a road accident near Rupapur in Varanasi while returning from the Kumbh Mela.
According to sources, the accident occurred in the early hours of Friday when their vehicle rammed into a stationary truck, resulting in the death of five passengers. A total of 14 devotees from Ladgeri in Bidar had traveled to Prayagraj for the Kumbh Mela. They had left two days ago. The accident occurred when they were on their way from Varanasi.
The deceased have been identified as Lakshmi (56), Neelamma (55), Santosh Kumar (42), Kalavati (40), and Sunitha (42).
Forest, Ecology, and Environment Minister Eshwar B. Khandre and Haj and Municipal Administration Minister Rehman Khan have condoled the deaths and assured support to the families of the victims.
Khandre who is also the district in-charge of Bidar has directed the district administration to arrange for the transportation of the mortal remains to Bidar and to ensure that the injured receive proper medical treatment.
Rehman Khan also expressed his sorrow.
The saddening news of the death of five devotees from Bidar in a tragic road accident has come as a shock. I extend my deepest condolences to their families in this difficult time," he added.
