MSF state general secretary Dharma Srikanth alleged that despite a change in leadership with the arrival of an interim vice-chancellor, there has been no significant action vis-Ã -vis cleansing the alleged corrupt practices.
The MSF's accusations extend to the former VC and several high-ranking professors, including Prof. Suresh Kumar and the rector Prof. Vijay Kumar Reddy, who have been implicated in numerous complaints.
The federation said that despite confirmation of some allegations by the KC Reddy Committee, the government has failed to take any concrete action. The committee’s report highlighted serious malpractices, yet the accused continue to hold influential positions in the university, he said.
The MSF has also accused the current director of evaluation, Dr. Aruna Kumari, of failing to address the issues. They urged her to release a white paper detailing the use of funds for various projects, including for the global alumni meet.
Meanwhile, the allegations are not limited to the administrative level. The MSF claims that corruption pervades every aspect of the university, from examination branches to sale of scrap. They demanded transparency in all operations of the university. They slammed the government, which ‘remained indifferent’ to their plight despite numerous public complaints against the corrupt system that has seeped in.
The students cautioned that if the government fails to put the house in order on a priority basis, they would intensify their protest and expose the murky goings on in the varsity.
They urged interim Vice Chancellor Burra Venkatesham to ensure a corruption-free environment and to prioritise the interests of students and faculty.
