Vijayawada: Amaravati farmers gave a grand welcome to Nara Chandrababu Naidu when he reached the state secretariat at Velagapudi to assume charge as Chief Minister on Thursday.
They expressed confidence about restart of constructions for the world-class capital that Naidu had promised in his first term as chief minister. Naidu reached Velagapudi via Undavalli, Venkatapalem and Mandam.
Amaravati farmers hailed the new CM at every village. They celebrated the occasion by bursting firecrackerson a large scale. The road from Naidu's house to Secretariat was filled with flowers.
Chandrababu Naidu was going to the Secretariat to sign some important files as per his promises during the election campaign.
As soon as he reached the seed access road, Chandrababu was warmly welcomed by the farmers with a showering of flowers. The CM got out of the car and walked up to the farmers. The farmers kept ready a mega garland, which they lifted and placed on Naidu with the help of a crane.
The farmers and women who spread flowers along the Seed Access Road expressed joy that their dream of Naidu’s return to power has come true. In 2019, YSRC leaders had pelted stones on Chandrababu. In a fitting reply, the Amaravati farmers showered flowers on him from the same place.
The farmers greeted the chief minister and marched with him in a procession. A woman ran along with Chandrababu's convoy to the secretariat.
The farmers said they had been struggling for five years due to Jagan Reddy’s “partisan” politics, and were now breathing a sigh of relief. “Now that Chandrababu is back as chief minister, our 1631 days-long movement has come to an end,” they announced.
